I have over 10 years’ experience as a publishing professional, working for independent publishers, literary agencies, and directly with writers, whether they are brand new to writing or already established. Across fiction and non-fiction, I have read, gave editorial feedback, edited and advised writers, agents and publishers not only editorially but with matters of copyright and publishing rights. 

Mentorships are a blend of motivation, editorial feedback, accountability and brainstorm, and I am keen to work with anyone who doesn’t feel like their voice and writing style fit the usual publishing curriculum.  

I offer my services in person in Glasgow and/or over (video) calls, in English and in French.

Mentoring:

If you have been looking for someone to help you get started or unblock a project, whether that’s at a sentence or structural level, these sessions are about building confidence. We might shape an idea into a non-fiction proposal, edit an essay or a short story, work on style or move a draft forward together. You set the agenda.

  • 1 x 1-hour session: £130
  • 3 x 1-hour session: £375

 

Editorial:

I offer manuscript assessments, from general feedback on structure, character development and commercial possibilities to more formal editorial support, as well as follow-up calls.

Rates are based on word count and scope.

Teaching / Workshops:

I have experience running workshops with independent reading groups, libraries and organisations.
