━ Mentoring ━

I have over 10 years’ experience as a publishing professional, working for independent publishers, literary agencies, and directly with writers, whether they are brand new to writing or already established. Across fiction and non-fiction, I have read, gave editorial feedback, edited and advised writers, agents and publishers not only editorially but with matters of copyright and publishing rights.

Mentorships are a blend of motivation, editorial feedback, accountability and brainstorm, and I am keen to work with anyone who doesn’t feel like their voice and writing style fit the usual publishing curriculum.

I offer my services in person in Glasgow and/or over (video) calls, in English and in French.

‘I am so grateful to have found Margaux; she is everything I need my mentor to be: my guide, my confidant, my teacher, and, most of all, my honest friend who will tell me when my characters fall flat or my narrative drifts. I always look forward to our meetings and know that after each one, I will learn something new and return to my story with renewed purpose.’

Working with Margaux as a writing mentor has been such a joy. She has this amazing way of being both nurturing and firm. Margaux kept me accountable, setting deadlines for drafts, edits, and final submissions. She helped me clean up my grammar and tense, but more importantly, she pushed me to figure out what I really wanted to say. She encouraged me to play with style and structure. Working with Margaux has genuinely helped me rediscover the joy of writing. – Numra

Margaux helped me to get a literary agent for my latest book. Her suggestions for refining the proposal and making it more attractive to agents were extremely helpful and probably made the difference in securing an agent's interest. She was also happy to help when I had further questions after our initial consultation. I would strongly recommend her to authors. – Mark
